Privacy policy

Information you give us

When you submit the quote request form or the Ask Gerry form, we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, phone number, a property address and your message. We use it to respond to you, to prepare a quote, and, if you engage us, to complete the assignment. Form submissions are processed by Netlify, the company that hosts this site, and stored in our email and business records.

Information collected automatically

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects an anonymized view of your activity. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt out browser add on or by blocking cookies in your browser. The property address lookup on some pages uses Google Maps, which is subject to Google's privacy policy.

• To keep business records as required by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Washington State law, which require appraisers to keep a workfile for each assignment for a set period

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing. We do not send marketing email to people who have only asked a question. Information about an appraisal assignment is shared only with the client and the intended users named in the engagement, and with others only as USPAP or the law permits or requires.

Retention

Form submissions that do not lead to an engagement are kept as long as they are useful for responding to you. Appraisal workfiles are retained for the period USPAP requires, which is at least five years after preparation or at least two years after the final disposition of any judicial proceeding in which the appraiser gave testimony, whichever is longer.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to the record keeping obligations above. Email office@appraisalms.com.

Children

This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
